New CEO and Senior Team
Following a governance review in 2020 it was decided to change the Senior Team at the Royal Entomological Society and to create a new Chief Executive Officer role. After a period of recruitment, we are delighted to announce that Simon Ward has been appointed to this role and will start with us at the end of April. Simon joins us from the Field Studies Council, where he has been Head of FSC: East Region and Education lead. He is very excited to lead the RES team in its next chapter and looks forward to meeting as many members and fellows as possible.
We are delighted to share that Luke Tilley is taking on the role of Director of Engagement and will continue to be a valued part of our Senior Leadership Team, building on his engagement successes at the RES. Luke has been heavily involved in the governance review and the Society is extremely pleased that he will continue to play a significant role in the leadership of the Society.
The Trustees would like to thank the talented staff team and consultants helping them to ensure a strong future for our wonderful Society. Council looks forward to working with Simon, Luke and the rest of the team. As this new structure takes shape we will keep the membership updated and look forward to involving you all in the future development of RES.
