The Society is seeking two Regional Honorary Secretaries (RHSs) to replace those who have recently moved away from the regions they represented. We currently need a representative for Wales and for South-western England (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire).

Key aspects of the role are encouraging people to join the Society and to participate in its activities, and overseeing a programme of Regional Meetings. This doesn’t mean that you’d have to organise the meetings, but it does mean that you’d need to find people willing to do so.  RHSs are part of the Membership Committee, which meets twice a year.

If you are willing to consider being an RHS, please contact Richard Harrington (Chair of Meetings Committee) for a chat with absolutely no obligation.  The only qualifications needed are an enthusiasm for entomology and entomologists, and good organisational skills – traits that exist in the youngest students to the oldest retirees. The appointments are made by Council.
