Do you have a story for Antenna?
It’s a good time to send your contributions for us to consider publishing in future volumes of Antenna. Feel free to discuss your ideas before committing to writing by contacting antenna@royensoc.co.uk.
How to contribute
Contributions are usually assessed solely by the editors but are occasionally sent to referees.
- We are particularly looking for well-illustrated articles of up to 3,000 words (occasionally, longer pieces will be accepted).
- These should be of interest to a wide range of entomologists (i.e., not overly specialised).
- They should be written in a ‘popular’ style rather than like a formal paper.
- They should contain some new information or review a topic from a novel angle.
- Any review-style article should present a balanced perspective. If you wish to present a one-sided, or even maverick, review, it could be considered for our ‘Opinion Pieces’ section.
Whilst we always report on RES events, we are also keen to report on entomological events not run by the Society. These reports should be no longer than 1,000 words, with some interesting pictures to choose from (preferably not speakers at the podium, or people looking at posters).
We want Antenna to be dynamic and are always keen to discuss any new ideas you may have to help make it so.
Author guidelines can be found at https://www.royensoc.co.uk/antenna-author-guidelines/.
The next copy-dates are 1 July and 1 October. We can’t guarantee accepting your piece or, if accepted, publishing it in the next issue. The more topical and novel the contribution, the more likely it is to be published quickly.
We look forward to hearing from you.
