The RES is looking to recruit members to join our newly structured Events Committee, working in line with our new Events Strategy. We particularly welcome applicants whose expertise relates to areas of The Grand Challenges in Entomology, and who have some experience of event and conference planning.
The RES organises several events per year including:
- Ento
- Verrall Lecture
- Student Forum
- Special Interest Group (SIG) events
- Joint initiatives
- Online talks
The committee will meet around three times per year, mostly online with an in-person meeting once a year where possible. Meetings will be scheduled at various times throughout the day to ensure that members from all time zones can be included. The committee members will support the work of the RES staff team in between meetings.
The first Events Committee Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday 12th June 2025 (timings TBC), online.
The RES hugely values equity, diversity and inclusivity, and the valuable input that our global membership brings. It is important that the committee reflects all areas and backgrounds of our community.
