Following the latest government announcement concerning the current Covid-19 pandemic the Society headquarters at Mansion House has now closed.

Where possible emails will be monitored, any urgent enquiries should be forwarded to

Our "identify that insect" service will continue, but our Director of Science cannot accept any physical samples to inspect during this time.

Our Librarian will not have access to our collections from home, but will be happy to try and locate references available to download from the internet.

Prof John Pickett CBE FRS

Honorary Treasurer

Professor Pickett is a Michael Elliott Distinguished Research Fellow at Rothamsted Research, noted for his work on insect phermones and biological chemistry in relation to agriculture.

Professor Pickett was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society in 1996 and appointed Commander of the British Empire in 2004. In 2014, he was awarded the Wolf Foundation Prize in Agriculture, and in 2008 was elected Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences.

In his role as Honorary Treasurer, Professor Pickett monitors the financial administration of the Royal Entomological Society
