Behavioural research is the meeting point of many disciplines and is therefore a stimulating subject for s Symposium, but it is correspondingly difficult to cover adequately. Our title is thus only indicative of the subject of the Society’s third Symposium, held on 23^rd-24^th September, 1965, the content having been selected, in accordance with the aims of these Symposia, to promote the coherence of the subject itself and provide authoritative, up-to-date outlines of some of its varied aspects for presentation to entomologists in general.
