Regional Representative - North England
Dr Barbara J Tigar DIC FHEA FRES is Senior Lecturer in Environmental Biology and Ecology at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston where her teaching focuses on applied ecology, evolution, conservation biology and forensic entomology. She has worked as an entomologist and ecologist in the UK, Lesotho, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates and on projects that investigate the role of insects and birds in natural and anthropogenic environments, the relationship between humans and wildlife and evaluating good practice in teaching ecology.
She became the RESL’s Northern Rep in August 2022 and is keen to hear from other northern members about the types of RESL events or activities they would like to see in the region. She is particularly keen to encourage early career entomologists to participate in regional events, as contributors and organisers, as well as participants.
