Dr. Micah Flores M-ABFE, FRES is an R&D Project Manager for BioMonde in South Wales. He studied Entomology at Texas A&M University with a focus on the growth and development of forensically relevant blow flies and their interspecific competition on ephemeral resources. Dr. Flores is a board-certified forensic entomologist with a variety of casework experience including human and animal neglect and post-mortem investigations. After completing his degree, he began researching larval therapy with the U.S. Army for use with wounded soldiers. Following on from this research he began working with BioMonde on a clinical trial for U.S. Veterans with chronic non-healing wounds. Dr. Flores moved from the U.S. to Wales in 2019 and has continued his research into the common green bottle fly (Lucilia sericata) for larval therapy. His current interests are the use of larval excretions/secretion for medical, veterinary, and other various applications. Dr. Flores is looking forward to getting to know fellow researchers and academics in Wales and throughout the UK to promote entomology.
