Ecological Entomology is seeking a volunteer Associate Editor to support the journal by promoting journal content online. This will be by writing short online news pieces, promoting the journal on social media, particularly using our X (twitter) platform. The person taking this role will be listed on the journal website alongside the rest of the editorial board.  

About the journal  

Ecological Entomology publishes top-quality original research on the ecology of insects and related invertebrate taxa. We publish papers that will be of considerable interest to the wide community of ecologists who are motivated by ecological or evolutionary theory. 

About you 

We are seeking a researcher with a keen interest in ecological entomology and in online science communication. This is a voluntary position but some financial support is available to attend relevant local meetings/conferences. 

You will have: 

  • Active research experience in the field of ecological entomology. 
  • An active interest in online science communication. 
  • Show a demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity in scientific publishing. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Write or commission one blog or online news piece about the journal content each month 
  • Promote the journal weekly on X (twitter) 
  • Work with the editorial team to come up with an implement new promotional activities, eg podcasts, videos, twitter takeovers etc.
