Travelling from outside of the UK
Glasgow is served by three airports – Glasgow Airport, Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Edinburgh Airport, all easily accessible by public transport.
Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is mandatory for travel to the UK and has been introduced in several stages for different nationalities this year. The following link is the best overview, where visitors can find official information and apply: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
Another helpful link, which details key deadlines for groups of visitors (by country), is as follows: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta
Each individual visitor is responsible for ensuring they have their own correct authorisation to enter the UK.
Travelling by rail
Train connections are available from the South to Glasgow Central, and from Edinburgh and the North to Glasgow Queen Street. The Technology & Innovation Centre is a short walk from both Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street train stations.
Accommodation
The deadline for booking with Glasgow Convention Bureau is 28 July and more information can be found here: Accommodation & Travel – Royal Entomological Society
