In the beginning of July 2026, The Bees, Pollinators and Invertebrates APPG held its first oral evidence session for our inquiry into invasive species and their impact on pollinator health. We were delighted to have six parliamentarians – Barry Gardiner, Manuela Perteghella, Lord Randall, Irene Campbell, Blake Stephenson and Adrian Ramsay – on the panel.

Questions focused on assessing the threats from invasive species including the Yellow-legged (Asian) Hornet, Himalayan Balsam, and the Harlequin ladybird. In particular, we would love to thank Professors Helen Roy, Jeff Ollerton and Phil Stevenson for giving such engaging and detailed evidence.
