RES HQ & Library Information Hub – Welcome to Our New Home

The Royal Entomological Society has officially moved into its new Library and Headquarters at Wenlock Road, London, marking an exciting new chapter in the Society’s history. After almost a decade based in St Albans, the move provides the Society with its own dedicated home in central London, designed to support insect science, collaboration, learning and community engagement.

We look forward to welcoming members, fellows, researchers, volunteers and visitors into a vibrant new space that reflects our mission to enrich the world with insect science.

About the New HQ

Our new headquarters is more than just an office. It has been designed as a welcoming hub where insect scientists, educators, communicators and enthusiasts can connect, collaborate and share ideas. The building offers:

  • A central London location close to Old Street, Angel, King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston stations.
  • Dedicated office, meeting and networking spaces.
  • A home for the Society’s world-renowned Library and Archive.
  • Flexible spaces for events, workshops, lectures and special interest groups.

Visit the Library

Home to one of the world’s most significant entomological collections, the RES Library and Archive contains centuries of insect science literature, journals, rare books and historical records that support research, learning and discovery.

The Library is expected to open at Wenlock Road in October 2026. Members and Fellows will be able to visit by appointment to consult collections, undertake research and borrow materials from the main collection.

A New Chapter for Insect Science

The move to Wenlock Road represents the beginning of a new era for the Society. Alongside housing our historic collections, the new HQ will provide a dynamic base for events, networking, education, research collaboration and public engagement.

We look forward to working with our community to ensure this space becomes a thriving centre for insect science for generations to come.
