Early Career Trustee
Liam Crowley is a long-standing and engaged member of the Royal Entomological Society, committed to advancing the Society’s mission and supporting the next generation of entomologists, contributing to several key RES committees and initiatives, including the Outreach Committee, the Education & Training Committee, and the Events Committee, where he helps enhance engagement, educational programming and scientific events. Earlier in his career, Liam served as a RES Student Representative, advocating for early career members and co-organising the RES student forum.
Liam has been recognised with both the RES Outreach Grant and the Goodman Award, enabling him to deliver innovative projects promoting entomology. He also created the popular “EntOlympics,” a competitive entomological quiz run alongside the Society’s annual Ento conference. Since 2015, he has additionally served as the Student and Early Career Group representative for the British Entomological and Natural History Society.
Through these roles, Liam has developed a deep understanding of the Society’s goals and the skills needed to contribute strategically to its future. He is particularly passionate about expanding training and opportunities for early career entomologists and ensuring the RES continues to be a welcoming, forward-thinking, and impactful organisation.
