The Royal Entomological Society (RES) has been working with partners both nationally and internationally to advance the study of insects, and to support a broader understanding of their roles in local, national and global ecosystems.
Ways to Support the Royal Entomological Society
As a registered charity and learned Society we depend on our community of insect experts and enthusiasts for collaborations, knowledge exchange and funding to support the future of insect science.
There are many ways you can help us continue this important work:
Join as a Member or Fellow
Be part of a global community of insect scientists, enthusiasts, and educators.
Your membership with our learned Society helps fund our charitable mission while giving you access to exclusive events, publications, and networking opportunities, plus many other membership benefits.
Contribute to our Journals
The RES journals are central to our mission – advancing insect science and sharing vital knowledge with researchers, educators, and policymakers around the world.
Our peer-reviewed publications support the global entomology community, from early-career scientists to established experts, and contribute to the understanding of biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability. Income from our journals is reinvested into education, outreach, and research, helping us inspire and support the next generation of insect scientists.

Take Part in Our Events and Share Your Research
RES events are at the heart of how we bring insect science to life for researchers, members, educators and enthusiasts alike. From public outreach campaigns to specialist scientific meetings, there are many ways you can get involved, connect with others and contribute your own work to our programmes.
- Join and participate in events – such as Insect Week, annual conferences, workshops and public lectures. These gatherings are opportunities to discover new research, learn from experts and engage with insect science in action. For example, Insect Week celebrates insects and the people who study them, with activities taking place across the globe each June.
- Share your research – many RES events include calls for speaker abstracts, poster presentations or session participation. Whether you’re an early-career researcher or established entomologist, submitting your work lets you contribute to scientific discussions and be part of the event programme.
- Contribute to SIG meetings – we often invite researchers to lead symposia, host workshops, contribute talks or sessions across our scientific and Special Interest Group events.
By joining a RES event, you don’t just attend – you help shape the way insect science is communicated, connected and applied. Most of our events also offer member discounts and exclusive networking opportunities as part of your Society membership benefits.
