The Royal Entomological Society (RES) is delighted to welcome the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) as a Gold Level Organisational Member. This partnership marks a significant step in strengthening the Society’s mission to advance insect science, education, and conservation through collaboration and shared expertise.

The Gold Level Organisational Membership offers organisations a premium partnership opportunity with RES, providing access to exclusive discounts, exhibition opportunities at RES events, dedicated job listings, discounted individual memberships for staff, visibility across the Society’s communications channels and more.

As a Gold Level member, UKECH join a leading community of organisations that support the study and appreciation of insects, a critical but often overlooked component of our planet’s biodiversity.

“We’re thrilled to welcome UKCEH as a Gold Level member. Their scientific expertise and commitment to evidence-based environmental research align perfectly with our mission to promote insect science for the benefit of people and the planet.

Together, we can amplify the impact of entomology in tackling global biodiversity and sustainability challenges.”

About UKCEH (UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology)

The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) is an independent, world-class research organisation conducting long-term environmental science across water, land, and air. UKCEH’s scientists provide essential data and analysis to help address global environmental challenges, including biodiversity loss, climate change, and ecosystem resilience.

UKCEH’s expertise in ecological monitoring and insect population research makes them a natural and invaluable partner in the Society’s ongoing work to protect and understand insect life, and our goal to promote insect science for the benefit of people and the planet.

Why this partnership matters

Through this partnership, RES and UKCEH will collaborate on advancing the science of entomology, supporting early-career researchers, and promoting the crucial role insects play in maintaining healthy ecosystems worldwide.

Insects account for up to 90% of all animal species and represent more than half of all living organisms. Yet they are under‐studied, under‐funded and often under‐appreciated. The RES in collaboration with partners to deliver education programmes, host global scientific meetings, publish research in leading scientific journals and support insect conservation and control efforts.

By joining the Gold tier, you will contribute directly to:

  • expanding training and professional development opportunities for entomologists and early-career scientists
  • supporting the Society’s publishing and outreach activities that inform policy and practice
  • providing increased visibility for both organisations among a global network of insect scientists, educators and conservationists
