Young Entomologists’ Day 2026

29 August @ 11:00 17:30

The Amateur Entomologist’s Societies Annual Young Entomologists Day will be held this year at the Natural History Museum, London on the 29th of August 2026.

The event will start at 11am with a day full of talks, workshops and a behind the scenes tour of the collections, the event will finish no later than 5:30 pm, however you are welcome to leave at any time. There will be an invited guest speaker, as well as an opportunity for young entomologists to give presentations on various different insect topics.

We encourage those who want to support but not present a talk to attend with friends and family and enjoy the activities.

The young entomologist presentations will be categorised in one of three categories:

  • Under 9;
  • 10-13 years;
  • 14-18 years.

RES Senior Outreach & Learning Officer, Fran Sconce FRES will be speaking at the event and there will be a RES stand – Do come and say hello on Saturday 29 August, at the NHM London!

If you plan to attend, please fill out your name in the form below:

Some more information for potential speakers:

Have you always been fascinated by bugs? AES would love to hear from you! They are looking for young entomologists to share their passion for insects with everyone at the Young Entomologist’s Day 2026. Maybe you have a favourite insect you’d like to tell us about? Or you maybe have insects as pets and can show us how you look after them.

Please get in touch by emailing YED@amentsoc.org including your age, name and the topic you would like to speak about.
