Volunteer Opportunity: Podcast Editor – UK Edible Insect Association (UKEIA)

Are you interested in science communication, podcast production, sustainable food systems, or building your CV with a growing industry organisation?

The UK Edible Insect Association (UKEIA) is looking for a volunteer to help edit and produce a new podcast series.

UKEIA represents the UK insect farming sector, bringing together producers, researchers, industry partners and other stakeholders working to develop insects as sustainable sources of food and feed. The Association works closely with government, regulators, researchers and industry to support the responsible growth of the sector and recently partnered with the Royal Entomological Society to launch the development of the UK’s first Insect Farming Codes of Practice.

With a huge amount of activity taking place across the sector, UKEIA has recently recorded its pilot podcast episode and is exploring new ways to share developments, insights and discussions with members and the wider community.

We’re looking for someone who can help with:

  • Editing podcast recordings into finished episodes
  • Improving audio quality and removing background noise where possible
  • Adding simple intros, outros and transitions
  • Supporting the publication of episodes on podcast platforms

This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career professionals interested in science communication, media production, agriculture, sustainability, entomology, food systems or public engagement.

Previous podcast editing experience would be helpful but enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important. The role is flexible and can be fitted around study or work commitments.

Benefits include:

  • Experience working with a national industry association
  • Networking opportunities with researchers, businesses and sector leaders
  • A tangible portfolio of published podcast content
  • Insight into a rapidly developing and innovative sector
  • Valuable CV experience in science communication and digital media

If you are interested in applying, please contact info@ukeia.co.uk with a brief introduction about yourself and any relevant experience.
