Early career

We are once again delighted to announce the winners of the Royal Entomological Society Journal Awards for the best articles led by early career entomologists, published during 2025. The winners are judged by the Editors’-in-Chief of each journal using a wide variety of criteria to assess the papers, for example, scientific rigour, excellent writing, and novel insights. There was stiff competition and several highly commended papers were awarded in addition to the winners. As in previous years, we were astounded by both the number of qualifying papers, plus the quality of them. As a learned society, it’s important to us to support early career researchers and if these papers are anything to go by, insect science is going from strength to strength into the future.

Congratulations to all our winners!
